Executive Board Descriptions

President: Oversees the entire club, provides suggestions and guidance to the rest of the officer team.  Must coordinate times and locations for officer meetings and weekly member meetings and maintain communication with the faculty advisor and other clubs in the college of business.  Ensures adherence to AMA policies and guidelines and develops the AMA chapter plan (Fall) and annual report (Spring).  President-elect is required to have been a marketing club officer for at least two semesters prior to running for office.  In the case that this criteria cannot be met, presidential candidates must have been an active club member for at least one year.

Commitment level: 10

VP of Community Service: Responsible for upholding our chapter’s strong relationship with the college of business, CSU and Fort Collins Communities, though community service activities.  New events should be created and annual events should be continued to maintain our exceptional track record in this area.

Commitment level:  9

VP of Fundraising: Responsible for securing various fundraising activities throughout both semesters.  Continuation of past fundraising events will be expected, but exploration of new revenue earning activities will be essential to the success of this office and the club.  (Funds are necessary to carry out most of the club’s activities and functions.)

Commitment level:  8

VP of Membership/Finance: Responsible for all membership activities, including registration of members with AMA and introduction to the CSU chapter.  Must create and maintain a membership database and track member’s attendance and participation.  Must keep record of the CSU chapter’s bank accounts as well as facilitate reimbursements for club spending (write checks).  Officer must compile the pro-forma income statements for the chapter plan and annual report. (Organizational skills a must)

VP of Promotions: Responsible for the upkeep of the Marketing Club Calendar, and the various promotional activities of our club, necessary in order to acquire new members and retain former members.  Officer must send weekly emails and reminders to all members and marketing faculty, as well as design and post flyers and meeting-reminder signs around the college of business.  Because of the new direction we are taking this coming year, this position will include promotions for activities and events sponsored by the club.  (Creativity a must)

 VP of E-Marketing: This position was created due to the necessity of the creation and maintenance of an interactive club website.  This officer will serve as the site administrator and is responsible for updating the sight on a weekly basis (or as needed).  The VP of E-Marketing shall consult the officer team in the event of any major alterations and/or additions.

Commitment level: 7

VP of Relations: Responsible for coordinating social events within the club (intramural sports, broomball, professional sports games, end-of-semester activities etc.)  Officer must contact the local AMA chapter and act as the liaison between the professional chapter and the club.  Coordinate member/officer attendance at the professional chapter meetings and/or events.  

Commitment level:        6

VP of Programming:  This position has two primary responsibilities: the Marketing Club’s homecoming float and the one-on-one table display at the intercollegiate conference.  This officer will also secure speakers to occasionally attend club meetings, providing valuable educational information (ie: resume building, interview skills etc).  Due to the amount of down-time of this position, VP of Programming will assist other officers with various tasks and duties.

Commitment level:  5

NON-ELECTED POSITIONS:

 Club Coordinator: (appointed by President-elect) Responsible for facilitating and planning the clubs presence at collegiate conference.  Officer will take an active roll in Case Competition (if applicable), and must aid with all club functions and duties.

BCC Representative:  (voted on/appointed by officer team upon commencement of new term) Represents the club at all BCC meetings, give reports and updates to both organizations (BCC & Mktg Club) and supports officer team through participation in club activities/events. 

ALL OFFICERS:      

  • ¨      Must have 2 nights free a week to attend meetings (typically Sun and Tues)
  • ¨      Must participate in club events
  • ¨      Must attend AMA intercollegiate competition (held in New Orleans in March or April)
  • ¨      Must be actively involved in chapter decision making and planning
  • ¨      Must be willing to help out other officers with their duties in times of need
  • ¨      As Market Research position has been taken off the slate, all officers will be responsible for aiding in the completion of various market research projects throughout the year. Each project can provide valuable experience to students, so it is imperative every officer participates.
